Hotel Room Sillies

More in Detroit

View from our Hotel Room window...

Me and Mommy...

Fun in Detroit

PEEK-A-BOO, Balloon!!

Pretty Dress

Needless to say, I dressed appropriately for the Expo, and we had some fun onboard the yacht... but the best playtime was back at our hotel. I was kind of sleepy, so I got a little silly. The light coming through the windows was excellent as the evening settled in, so Mamma Marianne got out the camera...

Grandma?? ...Can we go home yet?
(On this trip, I really was excited to spend time with Grandma and Aunt Linda! Their names came up often.)

Yacht for Expo

Here is the main yacht we were onboard for our Expo. And, GUESS WHAT?? The captain let me go up into the pilot house with him and 'turn the wheel!' It was an amazing highlight.

Detroit

We ventured from Chicago on to Detroit for our Expo there in early May. (Yes, Detroit!) We did do a little sightseeing from our trendy hotel downtown.

Plus, my Moms managed to eat the second best sandwich ever in this great little Greek diner. They raved and raved. I liked the french fries just fine too. I find that ketchup is good in any language.

Last shots at Navy Pier

Am I tall enough to ride?... Someday soon!

Meanwhile, I can have fun on the carousel!...

With Mamma

Navy Pier 2

When I was little-er and we'd see these kooky mirrors, I didn't pay much attention. But this time, I GOT IT! They are wild, wacky and lots of fun to dance with!

Navy Pier

One night we ventured to the Navy Pier in Chicago... Most of the shops and such were closed, but it was still fun. Being one of the only little people there, I got to engineer Thomas all by myself!

Stop & Think!

In this fair and mighty castle... I was sure there was a prince trapped in the tall, tall tower. But the door was locked! So I had to 'Stop & Think' (one of my new favorite phrases...)

Hmmm... I asked Mommy for a rope, to climb up, but Alas! she hadn't brought one along. Rats! I might have to stock my own backpack from now on...

Tulips & Teeth-chattering

The tulips were in bloom as May approached... but it was still quite brisk in Chicago! Most days, it was overcast and a bit drizzly, but we managed to see a few of the sights. We went out for yummy Chicago-style pizza and looked for independent bookshops for treasure hunting.

Weekend with Aunt Linda

The other day, Mamma Marianne tried to help me climb a tree. She lifted me way up high but it was too scary. So I told her, "No Mommy! I little!" ...This captures my feelings about gi-gi (my pacifier.) I may be a Big Girl at two-and-a-half, but I'm still little too!

More on River Cruise

River Cruise in Chicago

Waiting to take an 'Architectural River Tour of Chicago...' Our tour guide was nice enough, but I'd say that the ducks & geese have the most interesting insights when it comes to really knowing the city.

Visit to Chicago

The Windy City... Ahh, who knew there was a river right in the middle?? Well, this is the view out of our hotel - quite a beautiful venue for Moms' Expo on April 26th.

We had a really nice time, especially since Aunt Linda came along to babysit! As many of you know, Aunt Linda too is a princess, so she and I had LOTS of fun! She showered me with presents (including a crown headband you'll see in the next shots...) and we shared a special weekend together.

...One of my favorite new hobbies - Tree Barking!
